Leaving tonight!
After a week waiting in Kirkwall, we're getting ready to leave again. We'll run one last weather check, but the wind should decrease during the night and stay calm for the next three days. Waves are still forecast to 6m during the night. I'm already reaching for my seasickness tablets.
60 nautical miles north, we should reach Fair Isle by sunrise. I'm looking forward to discovering this isolated island, even though the coffee shop owner dampened my excitement this morning: "it's just another rock".
