Capsula is back afloat
Last Friday Capsula was lifted from her hibernation spot and carried back to the water. Like each time I see her hanging above the ground, a knot formed in my stomach. I kept the mantra going: “they are professionals, they know what they are doing”
All went well. They deposited her in the water, she floated, with no apparent water ingress. The engine started smoothly, which never fails to impress us, after 4 winter months of storage. We manoeuvred her to her departure berth, without a scratch. A perfect launch!
Or almost.
As we were about to celebrate with a coffee out, Stefano spotted a small but persistent leak on our toilet out hose.
Nothing is ever so simple with a boat.
Luckily, the leak was just at the junction with the seacock and the hose was long enough to accommodate a slight shortening. After a long fight - and some bruised fingers - to extract the hose from the seacock, Stefano removed the culprit part and re-connected everything.
As of now, nothing is leaking. We, Capsula, and the toilets, are ready for our adventure.
